Military Ball (Zach & Lakin)

Zach and Lakin went to the Military Ball on Saturday. Lakin is involved in the ROTC at Airport, and she and Zach got to go! They both looked great, and they had a good time! Zach is even talking about joining ROTC and pursuing some type of military/army type thing in the future! Of course, I cried as they got in her aunt's car to leave...but then, I cry at toilet paper commercials...ha!

ALL my Grandkids

There are only a couple times a year that ALL eight of my grandkids are together at the same time! This was one of those times! Aren't they the cutest??? It's kind of hard to get them all looking and smiling at the same time...so this will have to do for now! Happy New Year's to everyone!!!

Thanksgiving

Here I am waiting ever so patiently to steal the turkey skin from everyone else that has been smelling it and calling dibs!!! Good thing Steve loves me best! ;)

Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was as yummy as mine! The best part of the day was when I kept making everyone laugh by walking around acting like a gobbling turkey doing my turkey call. They were quite aggitated that I wouldn't stop, and maybe it did get a little "old" after two hours of random breaking out in it, but it was very funny if I say so myself. "Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!" Just wait until they see my Santa imitation at Christmas!

My ALL Time Favorite Animal

Take a deep breath and enjoy the wonderous smell of elephants...
All of my life I have always loved elephants. I think they are so big and beautiful. I love their floppy ears and how they can use them to fan themselves. I wish my ears were big and floppy! Then, I could wiggle them when I sing the song..."Do your ears hang low? Do they wobble to and fro?...." The best thing about elephants is their smell. I could sit under the covered shed at the zoo and watch them all day long! Some say I'm strange for this...especially Logan because he really dislikes their smell. I will keep on with my thoughts, though, and LOVE these wonderful animals!!!!

The BIG 5-0...yep, me!

Okay, my body and bones ached SO terribly this morning I had to literally roll out of bed. I forgot where I put my glasses so I stumbled my way to make coffee. My arthritis kicked in and my back locked up as I tried to pick up Caralee. I was astonished to see all the gray hair and wrinkles in the mirror too! Did I mention I couldn't see my feet through my sagging....well, you catch my drift. Oh boy...fifty is going to be fun! Wonder how long I can keep my real teeth!?!

And, since computers weren't around when I was growing up I couldn't figure out how to make this last picture any bigger...but it was part of my b-day celebration outfit that I ACTUALLY wore out in public to lunch at Sumo's! Yum-O!
